The second annual “Bike for The Planet” event is being held on Saturday September 11^th at Cobourg’s Victoria Park Band Shell (The Beach). The intention of this ride is to highlight the good and not so good aspects of urban cycling in Cobourg. It will also take in several improvements since last year’s event. Last year we had 86 riders take part and we received a great deal of media coverage. This year we are hoping for upwards of 200 riders.

The event will start at 10am and is only 13km long with a rest stop and presentation at Northumberland Hills Hospital.

It would be great to have as many of you attend and represent our incredible club as possible. Members of the Ganaraska Freewheelers and the new Northumberland Hills Cycling Community group will also be attending.

If any of you are able to act as sweeps or marshals that would also be great.

Hope the season is going well for everyone thus far. Just e-mailing you this morning in regards to the Ontario Summer Games that are coming up in August. I just wanted all of the clubs to be sure that we will be  accepting  Sport riders for the games as well as Expert riders. It is only suggested that you bring your Expert riders before you bring your Sport riders. The deadline for applications is June 25th so be sure to click the link below and get started!
