The Cobourg Cycling Club, established in 1974, is excited to announce the hiring of its first ever General Manager and Youth Cycling Coach, Tommy Lazarou.
Tommy brings unique skill sets and assets to both positions being well qualified in several capacities; as a bike store manager & mechanic at several GTA businesses and owning his own Bike Coaching business.
Via a recent grant from the Ontario Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism & Culture Industries and Ontario Cycling the club is able to put its Rebuild 2022 Program into high gear. This funding is meant to promote cycling within the Cobourg & area communities & will allow the club to offer more options for individuals, couples, youth and families, whether on trail, road or forest rides. More details, such as a free Try A Ride, can be found on the club website and Facebook pages.
Tommy as General Manager will be closely involved with the club’s Board of Directors to promote cycling, develop partnerships, plan events and rebuild membership. Likewise as Youth Coach he will help youth in whatever capacity necessary to improve their skills and motivation to have fun riding with their friends, all while being conscious of safety and good riding habits. Check out the Ride Calendar on the club’s website and Facebook details about such things as dates & times for when you can join in.
For Tommy, who will be wearing two hats at once, “I am super excited to share miles of passionate cycling expertise and solid business foundations with this vibrant community. I can't wait to meet you all this summer.”
Welcome to the team & community Tommy - we’re excited!
