Two big weekends of racing for Cobourg Cycling Club and Shredders member Josh Tyers!

On the June 2-4 weekend, Josh Tyers raced in Trek Store Canada Cup / Ontario Cup XC UCI C2 / UCI Jr Series Short Track – Cross Country at Hardwood Ski & Bike – Barrie, Ontario.

The second race of the OCup MTB Series at the world-renowned Hardwood Ski & Bike venue. Hardwood Ski & Bike is a proven international race venue, having hosted multiple national championship events and the Pan Am Games in previous years. This iconic venue is known for its challenging trails.

Josh won both of his events, the U15 MTB Short Track (XCC) in a time of 14:45.2 and the X-Country (XCO) race with a finish time of 40:30.9. Monday Night Crit Training and great coaching from Dad (Bryan Tyers) are already paying dividends for this young racer.

On June 11th The UCI Blue Mountain Gravel Fondo was set in beautiful Grey County at the southern end of Georgian Bay, the area provided the ideal geography for a world class gravel event, with a broad variety of terrain under a variety of road surfaces leveraging the Niagara Escarpment and Beaver Valley for challenging climbs and beautiful vistas.

Josh not only won his category U19, he also won the 85km event outright employing his emerging drafting and sprinting skills!

Congratulations Josh from all of us at the Cobourg Cycling Club! An up and coming young racer, we can't wait to see what you do on the road circuit!
